Muhammad & Gabriel:-

In the Quran he is called Jibril - which is a Syriac and not Arabic word - derived from the Hebrew (Gibbor-El), meaning 'God is Mighty'.

       His name first appeared in

Dan 8 "15: When I, Daniel, saw the vision I sought understanding, then, behold! There stood before me the likeness of a man. 16: I heard a human voice in the middle of the Ulai; he called out and said ' Gabriel, explain the vision to that (man). 17: So he came to where I was standing. When he came I was terrified, and I fell  face down. He said to me ' Understand, Son of Man, that the vision concerns the time of the End"

Luke1:18 "And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years. 19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to show thee these glad tidings"

Luke 1: 20 " But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.….28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

This is a variation on the Samson birth theme from

Judges13: 1". And the people of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.2. And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bore not.3. And the angel of the Lord appeared to the woman, and said to her, Behold now, you are barren, and bear not; but you shall conceive, and bear a son.4. Now therefore beware, I beseech you, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing; 5. For, behold, you shall conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head; for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to save Israel from the hand of the Philistines.6. Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came to me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very awesome; but I asked him not from where he was, nor did he tell me his name"

Mathew 1: 20 " But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

Gabriel is the same named angel who gave the 'good tidings' to Mary in
(Luke 1:19;26) and who is now allegedly bringing  new 'good tidings' to Muhammad (2:97/98).

The following are Surahs that name or allude to Gabriel as being the messenger of Revelations:

2: 97        Say: Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel for he brings down the (revelation) to thy heart by Allah's will a confirmation of what went before and guidance and glad tidings for those who believe.

98        Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and apostles to Gabriel and Michael Lo! Allah is an enemy to those who reject faith.

53: 4        It is no less than inspiration sent down to him:
5        He was taught by one mighty in Power
6        Endued with Wisdom: For he appeared (in stately form)
7        While he was in the highest part of the horizon:

81:19        Verily this is the word of a most honorable Messenger
20        Endued with Power with rank before the Lord of the Throne

One should ask the following relevant question:

Why would Gabriel, who allegedly foretold the coming of Jesus, the Messiah, the REDEEMER of all mankind, now announces the arrival of another different 'redeemer' ?

The reader should be aware that neither Muhammad nor the pagan Arabs had any idea who Gabriel was, where his name first appeared, whom he had met, whom he had inspired and what the meaning of his name is.

Even today, after the lapse of almost 1450 years, their ignorance remains the same since they are prohibited from reading the Bible.

The followers of Muhammad of today are as ignorant of PREVIOUS REVELATIONS (UMMIYOON) as their forefathers were in the days of PAGANISM.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 1.3        Narrated byAisha
(the mother of the faithful believers) The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Apostle was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright daylight, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family. He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food likewise again till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, "I do not know how to read."

The Prophet added, "The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, 'I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?' Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, 'Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists) has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous."
(96.1, 96.2, 96.3)

Then Allah's Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, "I fear that something may happen to me." Khadija replied, "Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones."

Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul 'Uzza, who, during the Pre-Islamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, "Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!" Waraqa asked, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" Allah's Apostle described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same one who keeps the secrets (angel Gabriel) whom Allah had sent to Moses…….

The most glaring difference between Gabriel's appearances with Zakhariah and Mary as compared to that with Muhammad is the violence and intimidation in the latter vis a vis the peaceful and gentle ones with the former.

With Zakharia and Mary, Gabriel introduced himself with assurances to both that they had nothing to fear and then explained to them the purposes of his intercession.

Not so in the story of his alleged encounter with Muhammad. In the case of the latter, Gabriel, without any introduction whatsoever, merely ordered Muhammad to 'read' something that he, Gabriel, should have definitely known
- being the angel of Allah - that the allegedly  illiterate Muhammad could not possibly have done.

Besides being an ignorant angel, he, contrary to his previous modus operandi, used physical violence against Muhammad to press his point.

According to Ahadith reports, Gabriel was in constant and repeated touch with Muhammad justifying every action and utterance through an Aya/Verse that invariably'descended'   extremely conveniently AFTER each event.

The manner with which these stories are recited point to the very real possibility that Muhammad actually believed that the Gabriel that he created in his own mind
- split personality - was real and was giving him his instructions from Allah, thus justifying all his actions of broken treaties, murder, hate, destruction and piracy besides the enormous amounts of plagiarised theology pirated from the Christians, Jews, pagan Arabs and others.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.605        Narrated byAisha
The Prophet returned to Khadija while his heart was beating rapidly. She took him to Waraqa bin Naufal who was a Christian convert and used to read the Gospels in Arabic. Waraqa asked (the Prophet), "What do you see?" When he told him, Waraqa said, "That is the same angel whom Allah sent to the Prophet Moses. Should I live till you receive the Divine Message, I will support you strongly."

*** If Waraqa was truly a Christian and well read in the Bible, he could not have ever said the stupid and untrue statements put in his mouth by the Hadith writers.

Waraqa would have known that No ANGEL ever came to Moses and definitely not Gabriel.

Like so many errors, falsehoods, mirepresentations and downright lies in the Quran, the Ahadith too follow suite especially since the Gospels were written in Syriac ***

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 1.500        Narrated byIbn Shihab
Once 'Umar bin 'Abdul 'Aziz delayed the prayer and 'Urwa bin Az-Zubair went to him and said, "Once in 'Iraq, Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba delayed his prayers and Abi Mas'ud Al-Ansari went to him and said, 'O Mughira! What is this? Don't you know that once Gabriel came and offered the prayer (Fajr prayer) and Allah's Apostle prayed too, then he prayed again (Zuhr prayer) and so did Allah's Apostle and again he prayed ('Asr prayer) and Allah's Apostle did the same; again he prayed (Maghrib-prayer) and so did Allah's Apostle and again prayed ('Isha prayer) and so did Allah's Apostle and (Gabriel) said, 'I was ordered to do so (to demonstrate the prayers prescribed to you).' "  'Umar (bin 'Abdul 'Aziz) said to 'Urwa, "Be sure of what you say. Did Gabriel lead Allah's Apostle at the stated times of the prayers?" 'Urwa replied, "Bashir bin Abi Mas'ud narrated like this on the authority of his father." Urwa added, "Aisha told me that Allah's Apostle used to pray 'Asr prayer when the sunshine was still inside her residence (during the early time of 'Asr)."

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 3.126        Narrated byIbn Abbas
The Prophet was the most generous amongst the people, and he used to be more so in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel visited him, and Gabriel used to meet him on every night of Ramadan till the end of the month. The Prophet used to recite the Holy Qur'an to Gabriel, and when Gabriel met him, he used to be more generous than a fast wind (which causes rain and welfare).

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.68        Narrated byAisha
When Allah's Apostle returned on the day (of the battle) of Al-Khandaq (i.e. Trench), he put down his arms and took a bath. Then Gabriel whose head was covered with dust, came to him saying, "You have put down your arms! By Allah, I have not put down my arms yet." Allah's Apostle said, "Where (to go now)?" Gabriel said, "This way," pointing towards the tribe of Bani Quraiza. So Allah's Apostle went out towards them .

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.431        Narrated byAbu Huraira
The Prophet said, "If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel saying, 'Allah loves so and-so; O Gabriel! Love him.' Gabriel would love him and make an announcement amongst the inhabitants of the Heaven. 'Allah loves so-and-so, therefore you should love him also,' and so all the inhabitants of the Heaven would love him, and then he is granted the pleasure of the people on the earth."

*** How did Muhammad know what Allah does and does not do without having communicated directly with him especially since Gabriel - according to all the records - did not inform him of Allah's private affairs ? ***

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.443        Narrated byIbn Abbas
Allah's Apostle was the most generous of all the people, and he used to be more generous in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel used to meet him. Gabriel used to meet him every night in Ramadan to study the Holy Qur'an carefully together. Allah's Apostle used to become more generous than the fast wind when he met Gabriel.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.455        Narrated byAbu Ishaq Ash Shaibani
I asked Zir bin Hubaish regarding the Statement of Allah: "And was at a distance Of but two bow-lengths Or (even) nearer; So did (Allah) convey the Inspiration to His slave (Gabriel) and then he (Gabriel) Conveyed (that to Muhammad)." (53.9-10) On that, Zir said, "Ibn Mas'ud informed us that the Prophet had seen Gabriel having 600 wings."

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.458        Narrated byMasruq
I asked 'Aisha "What about His Statement:  'Then he (Gabriel) approached And came closer, And was at a distance Of but two bow-lengths Or (even) nearer,' (53.8-9)?" She replied, "It was Gabriel who used to come to the Prophet in the figure of a man, but on that occasion, he came in his actual and real figure and (he was so huge) that he covered the whole horizon."

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.607        Narrated byAbu Huraira
Allah's Apostle said, "On the night of my Ascension to Heaven, I saw (the prophet) Moses who was a thin person with lank hair, looking like one of the men of the tribe of Shanua; and I saw Jesus who was of average height with red face as if he had just come out of a bathroom. And I resemble prophet Abraham more than any of his offspring does. Then I was given two cups, one containing milk and the other wine. Gabriel said, 'Drink whichever you like.' I took the milk and drank it. Gabriel said, 'You have accepted what is natural, (True Religion, i.e. Islam) and if you had taken the wine, your followers would have gone astray.' "

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.640        Narrated byMalik bin Sasaa
That the Prophet talked to them about the night of his Ascension to the Heavens. He said, "(Then Gabriel took me) and ascended up till he reached the second heaven where he asked for the gate to be opened, but it was asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel replied, 'I am Gabriel.' It was asked, 'Who is accompanying you?' He replied, 'Muhammad.' It was asked, 'Has he been called?' He said, 'Yes.' When we reached over the second heaven, I saw Yahya (i.e. John) and Jesus who were cousins. Gabriel said, 'These are John (Yahya) and Jesus, so greet them.' I greeted them and they returned the greeting saying, 'Welcome, O Pious Brother and Pious Prophet!;' "

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 5.112        Narrated byAbu Salama
'Aisha said, "Once Allah's Apostle said (to me), 'O Aish ('Aisha)! This is Gabriel greeting you.' I said, 'Peace and Allah's Mercy and Blessings be on him, you see what I don't see.' " She was addressing Allah's Apostle.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 5.327        Narrated byRifaa
(who was one of the Badr warriors) Gabrielcame to the Prophet and said, "How do you look upon the warriors of Badr among yourselves?" The Prophet said, "As the best of the Muslims," or said a similar Statement. On that, Gabriel said, "And so are the Angels who participated in the Badr (battle)."

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 5.373        Narrated byIbn Abbas
On the day of Uhud. the Prophet said, "This is Gabriel holding the head of his horse and equipped with war material.'

*** Throughout the Quran and Ahadith, Muhammad and his followers ONLY won battles because of the SUPPORT they received from THOUSANDS of angels against the vastly OUTNUMBERED victims of Muhammad.

All these battles were UNFAIR and ONE-SIDED since Allah's hordes were supporting Muhammad and his followers ***

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 5.443        Narrated byAisha
When the Prophet returned from Al-Khandaq (i.e. Trench) and laid down his arms and took a bath, Gabriel came and said (to the Prophet ), You have laid down your arms? By Allah, we angels have not laid them down yet. So set out for them." The Prophet said, "Where to go?" Gabriell said, "Towards this side," pointing towards Banu Quraiza. So the Prophet went out towards them.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 5.449        Narrated byAl Bara
The Prophet said to Hassan, "Abuse them (with your poems), and Gabriel is with you (i.e, supports you)." (Through another group of sub-narrators) Al-Bara bin Azib said, "On the day of Quraiza's (besiege), Allah's Apostle said to Hassan bin Thabit, 'Abuse them (with your poems), and Gabriel is with you (i.e. supports you).' "

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 6.255        Narrated byIbn Abbas
The Prophet said to Gabriel "What prevents you from visiting us more often than you visit us now?" So there was revealed:
"And we (angels) descend not but by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us..."  (19.64)

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 6.488        Narrated byAnas
When the Prophet was made to ascend to the Heavens, he said (after his return), "I came upon a river the banks of which were made of tents of hollow pearls. I asked Gabriel, 'What is this (river)?' He replied, 'This is the Kauthar.' "

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 6.503        Narrated byAbu Uthman
I was informed that Gabriel came to the Prophet while Um Salama was with him. Gabriell started talking (to the Prophet). Then the Prophet asked Um Salama, "Who is this?" She replied, "He is Dihya (al-Kalbi)." When Gabriel had left, Um Salama said, "By Allah, I did not take him for anybody other than him (i.e. Dihya) till I heard the sermon of the Prophet wherein he informed about the news of Gabriel." The subnarrator asked Abu 'Uthman: "From whom have you heard that?" Abu 'Uthman said: "From Usama bin Zaid."

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 6.513        Narrated byAbdullah bin Abbas
Allah's Apostle said, "Gabriel recited the Qur'an to me in one way. Then I requested him (to read it in another way), and continued asking him to recite it in other ways, and he recited it in several ways till he ultimately recited it in seven different ways."

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 6.520        Narrated byAbu Huraira
Gabriel used to repeat the recitation of the Qur'an with the Prophet once a year, but he repeated it twice with him in the year he died. The Prophet used to stay in I'tikaf for ten days every year (in the month of Ramadan), but in the year of his death, he stayed in I'tikaf for twenty days.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 6.564        Narrated byIbn Abbas
Regarding His (Allah's) Statement: "Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur'an) to make haste therewith."  (75.16)  And whenever Gabriel descended to Allah's Apostle with the Divine Inspiration, Allah's Apostle used to move his tongue and lips, and that used to be hard for him, and one could easily recognize that he was being inspired Divinely. So Allah revealed the Verse which occurs in the Surah starting with "I do swear by the Day of Resurrection,"  (75.1)  i.e. "Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur'an) to make haste therewith. It is for Us to collect it (in your mind) (O Muhammad) and give you the ability to recite it by heart,"   (75.16-17) which means: It is for us to collect it (in your mind) and give you the ability to recite it by heart. "And when We have recited it to you (O Muhammad) through Gabriel then follow you its recital," (75.18)  means: When We reveal it (the Qur'an) to you, listen to it, for then: "It is for Us to explain it and make it clear to you,"    (75.19) i.e., it is up to Us to explain it through your tongue. So, when Gabriel came to him, Allah's Apostle would listen to him attentively, and as soon as Gabriel left, he would recite the Revelations, as Allah had promised him.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 7.843        Narrated bySalims father
Once Gabriel promised to visit the Prophet but he delayed and the Prophet got worried about that. At last he came out and found Gabriel and complained to him of his grief (for his delay). Gabriel said to him, "We do not enter a place in which there is a picture or a dog."

Allah's Apostle said, "O 'Aisha! This is Gabriel sending his greetings to you." I said, "Peace, and Allah's Mercy be on him (Gabriel). You see what we do not see." (She was addressing Allah's Apostle).

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 8.44        Narrated byIbn Umar
Allah' Apostle said, "Gabriel kept on recommending me about treating the neighbors in a kind and polite manner, so much so that I thought that he would order (me) to make them (my) heirs."

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 8.66        Narrated byAbu Huraira
The Prophet said, "If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel saying: 'Allah loves so and so; O Gabriel, love him.' Gabriel would love him, and then Gabriel would make an announcement among the residents of the Heaven, 'Allah loves so-and-so, therefore, you should love him also.' So, all the residents of the Heavens would love him and then he is granted the pleasure of the people of the earth."

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 9.579        Narrated byAbu Dharr
The Prophet said, Gabriel came to me and gave me the glad tidings that anyone who died without worshipping anything besides Allah, would enter Paradise. I asked (Gabriel), "Even if he committed theft, and even if he committed illegal sexual intercourse?" He said, )Yes), even if he committed theft, and even if he committed illegal sexual intercourse."

Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 2215        Narrated byUbayy ibn Ka'b
Ubayy told of Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) meeting Gabriel and saying, "I have been sent, Gabriel, to a people who are unlettered, among whom are old women and old men, boys and girls, and men who have never read a book."  He replied, "The Qur'an, Muhammad, has been sent down in seven modes."
Tirmidhi transmitted it.

Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 2372        Narrated byThawban
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, When a servant seeks to please Allah and continues to do so, then Allah Who is Great and Glorious, says to Gabriel, "My servant so and so seeks to please Me, therefore My mercy has descended on him."  Gabriel says, "Allah's mercy has descended on so and so," and the bearers of the Throne and those who are around them say it until the inhabitants of the seven heavens say it, after which it comes down to him on Earth."             Ahmad transmitted it.

Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 5425        Narrated byAbuSa'id al-Khudri
Gabrielcame to Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) and said: Muhammad, have you fallen ill? Thereupon he said: Yes. He (Gabriel) said: "In the name of Allah I exorcise you from everything and safeguard you from every evil that may harm you and from the eye of a jealous one. Allah would cure you and I invoke the name of Allah for you."
