Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 4909Narrated byAbdullah ibn Mas'ud
Salam ibn Miskin, quoting an old man who witnessed AbuWa'il in a wedding feast, said: They began to play, amuse and sing. He united the support of his hand round his knees that were drawn up, and said: I heard Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) say: I heard the apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Singing produces hypocrisy in the heart.
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 2207Narrated byHudhayfah
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Recite the Qur'an with the modulations and tones of the Arabs, but avoid the modulations of those who recite love poetry and the modulations of the people of the two Books. After my death people will come who will trill when they recite the Qur'an as is done in singing and wailing, but it will go no farther than their throats, and they and those who are charmed by their performance will be let into error."
Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman and Razin in his book transmitted it.
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 3153Narrated byMuhammad ibn Hatib al-Jumahi
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The distinction between what is lawful and what is unlawful is the song and the tambourine at a wedding."
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "When the booty is taken in turn, property given in trust is treated as spoil, zakat is looked on as a fine, learning is acquired for other than a religious purpose, a man obeys his wife and is unfilial towards his mother, he brings his friend near and drives his father far off, voices are raised in the mosques, the most wicked member of a tribe becomes its ruler, the most worthless member of a people becomes its leader, a man is honoured through fear of the evil he may do, singing-girls and stringed instruments make their appearance, wines are drunk, and the last members of this people curse the first ones, look at that time for a violent wind, an earthquake, being swallowed up by the earth, metamorphosis, pelting rain, and signs following one another like bits of a necklace falling one after the other when its string is cut."
Tirmidhi transmitted it.
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.155Narrated byAisha
Allah's Apostle came to my house while two girls were singing beside me the songs of Bu'ath (a story about the war between the two tribes of the Ansar, i.e. Khazraj and Aus, before Islam.) The Prophet reclined on the bed and turned his face to the other side. Abu Bakr came and scolded me and said protestingly, "Instrument of Satan in the presence of Allah's Apostle?" Allah's Apostle turned his face towards him and said, "Leave them." When Abu Bakr became inattentive, I waved the two girls to go away and they left. It was the day of 'Id when negroes used to play with leather shields and spears. Either I requested Allah's Apostle or he himself asked me whether I would like to see the display. I replied in the affirmative. Then he let me stand behind him and my cheek was touching his cheek and he was saying, "Carry on, O Bani Arfida (i.e. negroes)!" When I got tired, he asked me if that was enough. I replied in the affirmative and he told me to leave.
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 5.268Narrated byAisha
That once Abu Bakr came to her on the day of 'Id-ul-Fitr or 'Id-ul-Adha while the Prophet was with her and there were two girl singers with her, singing songs of the Ansar about the day of Buath. Abu Bakr said twice, "Musical instrument of Satan!" But the Prophet said, "Leave them Abu Bakr, for every nation has an 'Id (i.e. festival) and this day is our 'Id."
*** It is important that the reader should appreciate the magnitude and diversity of PROHIBITIONS that are in the Quran.
These prohibitions attack almost every single item of pleasure to ordinary human beings thus DEPRIVING the followers of Muhammad of evrything that makes humans HAPPY such as:
Listening to Music
Covering women from head to toe
It should not be too difficult to understand why men who are INDOCTRINATED in the Quran would prefer the promised REWRADS of the AFTERLIFE than the barrenness of their LIFE on Earth ***
